SIA Door Supervisor Refresher / Top-Up Training
Offered by Securex Premium Services in London, this in-person, classroom-based course includes Emergency First Aid and is designed for experienced Door Supervisors looking to renew their SIA licence. From 1st April 2025, completing a Refresher qualification is mandatory for all renewing licence holders. It is also strongly recommended for those who have not worked in the security industry recently or have not been actively performing Door Supervisor duties.

Entry Requirements:
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Must hold a valid Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate – Level 3 RQF/QCF or Level 6 SCQF
• The First Aid certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date
• If you do not have a First Aid certificate, you must enrol in the course package that includes First Aid
• Completion of the ACT (Action Counter Terrorism) eLearning module is mandatory (guidelines will be provided by our centre)

Course Content Includes Two Key Units:

1. Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor (Refresher):
• Conducting effective search procedures
• Safeguarding vulnerable individuals
• Understanding and responding to terror threats
• Preventing spiking incidents

2. Application of Physical Intervention Skills (Refresher):
• Understanding the legal and safety implications of physical intervention
• Recognising and reducing associated risks
• Safely applying physical skills for self-protection and public safety
• Performing non-pain compliant standing, holding, and escorting techniques

Self-Study:
• Free, high-quality online study materials are provided
• Learners must complete the self-study and workbook prior to attending class

Assessment and Exams:
• Includes multiple-choice tests and practical demonstrations
• All assessments are set and marked by an external awarding organisation
• Free retakes are available if you do not pass on your first attempt

Certification:
• Certificates are issued within 7–10 working days after successful completion
• Once certified, learners can proceed to apply for their SIA Door Supervisor licence renewal
